Golf 30

We think you will find a round of golf with at the Quarry a unique, challenging and fun experience.  To accommodate players of all skill levels we feature four sets of tee boxes on each hole.  The Forward tees play to a total of 4,897 yards, the Regular tees to 5,576, the Championship tees to 6,128 and the Professional tees to a challenging 6,740.  Our course rating and slope is as follows.

Professional:  72.4/132
Championship:  69.3/127
Regular:  66.7/117
Forward:  69.2/116

The front and back nines play very, very differently.  The front nine is links styled like you might see in Scotland or Ireland.  It features rolling hills, large, expansive bunkers and sloping greens.  Holes of note are the long par four number 2 named “Rails”, the dog leg left par five 5th hole named “Watery Grave”, and the par three 8th hole where you hit to the green from a highly elevated tee box.

The back nine is where we get our name, The Quarry.  100 years ago it was an active, busy, limestone rock quarry pit providing stone for a growing San Antonio area.  Today it is beautifully maintained 9 holes of golf for all of you to enjoy.  Holes of note on the back nine are number 10, a long par four that for most players is difficult to reach in two, along with numbers 13 and 17 where your tee shots soar above the deep quarry pit below you.  Those holes are appropriately named “Escape from Alcatraz” and “Reload”.

We know you will enjoy a round of golf at the Quarry.  Our regulars tell us we are one of the top golf courses in San Antonio.  We look forward to seeing you here very soon!

Good afternoon Daryl. We are not a private club and do not have membership prices. We are an open to the public, daily fee golf course. You can come out and play any time we do not have a private event!

Hello Mary Jane. No we do not have a Ladies Club or Association. We do have quite a few women that play here however. If you call the Pro Shop and ask for our Head Golf Professional, Haley Hocott she can probably connect you with some people. Thanks for thinking of The Quarry!

I dont play much Golf but want to take my husband out for b day with a small group of family. (8-10 people) is there a fee to play or just the club rental cost? Can the clubs be shared among a few people? Are children allowed? And lastly are there dress code details I can look at? Sorry for the questions. As you can see I’m new to this.

Good evening Stephanie. Yes there is a cost to play the course. You can see the costs on our Book A Tee Time Page. If you need to rent clubs, each person playing would have to rent a set. The cost is $65 plus tax for rentals and you receive 2 sleeves of golf balls as well. No, the clubs cannot be shared. Children are of course allowed. The green fees are the same for children and adults. Our only dress code is that we prefer that men wear collared shirts, and no jeans or denim. We look forward to seeing you all!

I’m visiting Texas for a few days and would love to play a round of golf, but unfortunately didn’t pack any golf stuff. I see you rent our clubs, do you also rent shoes by any chance? And is the dress code strict?

Good morning Jacob. No we do not have rental shoes. Our dress code is not strict. We ask that players wear collared shirts and no jeans. We look forward to seeing you!
